Welcome to Two Way Direct, your number one two-way radio dealer in the US. We not only offer all major brand products, but we do so at the lowest prices guaranteed.

This is Part 2 of our 3 part series on IP-Ratings. Just as a refresher or for those who haven’t viewed Part 1, an IP- rating technically represents the level of protection provided by a device against the intrusion of solid objects and liquids. It is the level of durability, which your two-way radios possess.

A low IP-rating is considered between IP54-IP60. Today we are talking about Average IP-Ratings and popular handhelds within this category.

An average IP-rating is the range between IP61 - IP66. Check out the graph below to see which qualities these radios typically possess:

A couple of our most popular two-way radios with average IP-ratings include the Hytera BD612i (IP66) as well as the TWD XTR550 (IP65).

With qualities including a particle-tight structure and the ability to resist water, these handhelds are definitely suitable for heavy use and are very durable. Industries, which can benefit from radios within this IP-rating range would be Security, Logistics as well as large warehouses and manufacturing.
